Come to Pioneer Clubs award Night

All are invited to Pioneer Clubs Award Night this Wednesday, February 4, 7:30 PM in the Worship Center. During the half hour, leaders will present to the children earned badges for both scripture studies and newly learned activities. Special recognition is given to Barb Sandbulte who then takes the 80 or more Pioneer Club bags home and sews 6-8 badges on each bag.

The Clubs meet Wednesday nights, 6:30-8 PM, during the school year. Unit topics cover friendship and who Jesus is along with paper crafts for the Scooters, Kindergarten. Voyagers, Grades 1-2, learn how to love and serve others, also cooking, and how to use their Bible and find God’s guidance. Pathfinders, Grades 3-4, study how to get along with others, obey parents, and help others join God’s family. Activities include playing as a team, sewing bookmarks and hot/cold rice compresses, even crocheting. They also learn how to help with chores at home like laundry and vacuuming. Trailblazers, Grades 5-6, dig deeper into the Bible on friendship, the uniqueness of Jesus, and the plan God has to save them. Active learning covers building strong friendships, woodworking (small crate), and how to be prepared for an emergency using first aid and CPR training.

Leaders are Scooters, Linda Uithoven, Helpers Angie Sandbulte and Cassidy Teunissen; Voyager girls, Lauree Teunissen and Helper Joan Salzer; Voyager boys, Amanda Sandbulte and Helper Paul Sandbulte; Pathfinder girls, Anne Shelton; Pathfinder boys, Josh Ossefoort and Helper Orrie Frahm; Trailblazer girls, Erin Jacobsma; and Trailblazer boys, Codie Zeutenhorst. Club helpers are Chessa Frahm, Tannen Heideman, Kathleen Jacobsma, Ken Klay, Dawn Vander Beek, and Kim Vander Lugt.

Becky Ossefoort, Children Ministry Coordinator, says, “I continue to be amazed how our children are little beacons of light in the world, and continue to bring new children to club who oftentimes join. Some of these children do not have a church home, and have never opened a Bible. Being part of the beginning of what I pray is a very long walk with Jesus is a beautiful thing!”
