Fall Opportunities for Transformation and Growth

THE JOURNEY Have you considered the epic story God is writing in your life? If not, it’s time to pay attention to the good work God is doing in your life, our community and world. It’s time to sink more deeply into a learning process that will help you discover more clearly who God is, who you are and what God desires to do through your life. Imagine what might happen if your story was about to take a turn. For more information, contact Pastor Mike (320-226-2646) or Joy Dawson (605-271-2796).

THE LIFE READY WOMAN Rachel Circle invites all women to study “The Life Ready Woman: Thriving in a Do-It-All World” by Shaunti Feldhan on Wednesdays, 6:30 PM beginning September 10 in the Multipurpose Room. This study shows women how to have balance, peace, and joy by discovering God’s blueprint for their lives. Each woman will learn not only how to survive but how to thrive in our do-it-all world. Sign up at the Narthex table. Workbooks are $10. Cora Klay will facilitate.

CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION Beginning Sunday, September 14 during Family Education time after worship, Continuing the Conversation will engage in a 10 week reflection on the book and sermon series, Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit. Mike Altena will facilitate the conversation as well as offer some practical steps in learning how to “dance with the Spirit.” This class is for anyone in 9th grade or older and desires to grow in listening and following the Holy Spirit. Attendees are strongly encouraged to read the book; sign up at the Narthex table.

THE LIFE YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED A second option beginning September 14 during Family Education time will be a 6 week study focusing on the book by John Ortberg, The Life You’ve Always Wanted. The heart of Christianity is transformation—a relationship with God that impacts not just our “spiritual lives,” but every aspect of living. John Ortberg calls readers back to the dynamic heartbeat of Christianity—God’s power to bring change and growth—and reveals both the how and why of transformation. This is more than just a book about things to do to be a good Christian. It’s a road map toward true transformation that starts not with the individual but with the object of the journey—Jesus Christ. Jon Salzer will facilitate the reflection on the book and DVD sessions. This class is for anyone in 9th grade or older who desires a more intimate relationship with God. Attendees are strongly encouraged to read the book; sign up at the Narthex table.

PRAYER A third option on Sunday mornings will be a study of Prayer written by David Healey. As David Healey leads you through the prayers of men and women in the Bible (Mary, Abraham, Moses, Daniel and more!), you will gain new insights into why, what and how to pray. And you will experience more fully the adventure that prayer can be. This will be a safe environment to strengthen your communication with God. Cheryl Fey will facilitate.
