Operation Christmas Child Seeks New Leader

There comes a time when a worthwhile program we have enjoyed being a part of for many years must be handed over to someone younger and more able.   Such is the case with the Samaritan Purse Christmas Shoebox Project that our church has participated in. The project is alive and well in ARC, but it is time for me to hand the reins over to someone else.

Karen Bosch is responsible for the outreach into the surrounding area and she will continue to do this. What is needed is someone who is excited about continuing the Christmas Shoebox project in our church.

The responsibilities include publicity in ARC, folding boxes which are obtained in Worthington, adding a brochure in each box with packaging instructions, and setting a date when the boxes must be brought back to our church. Shoeboxes are then packed in large boxes (provided) and brought to Worthington.

Years ago we needed to furnish our own shoe box and decorate them, but Samaritan Purse has learned the benefit of uniform size boxes which pack and ship much easier, therefore they now furnish them.   Children around the world are blessed by these small boxes of school and hygiene products.

Please contact me soon if you feel God has a place for you in this ministry for needy children. I am willing to walk you through the process of this wonderful outreach program in ARC.   Frances Veldkamp
